2011 Topps Part III

By: Clay

Well, here is the rest so far. I didn't include ToppsTown cards. Still the dumbest insert series to continue over the years. Last years Timeline series is this years Diamond Duos. Still an ok insert. Plus the Cards Your Mom Threw Out has turned into the 60 Years of Topps reprints. I do like those so far. Seems as though Topps has added Stan Musial to their man crush list along with Mantle. By the way, Mickey Mantle should not be on the regular checklist every year. That is getting old. Let's move on from Mantle. It's fine to keep him in inserts but jesus christ let's move on. If you look closely to the Jonathan Albaladejo relic card, you will see that damage I was talking ablout the other day. And by the way, do we really need a relic card of the 2010 International League Saves Leader? Hell no! Oh wait, he is in a damn Yankees uniform. Here is my other problem with Topps. They are in love with the Yankees and Red Sox. Topps, can we please have more small market team love?

2011 Topps Baseball Part 2

Here you have the mini Kimball Champions set, the Reproduction set and Topps 60. I absolutley hate the Repro set. What's the point? The Topps 60 set is basically the same as last year's Peak Performance set. They got creative with there T 60 set though. To include certain teams, they had to use their ESPN-like thinking and make cards for "Career Home Runs for a Montreal Expos Player", "Single Season RBI by a Mets Catcher", and "Career Range Factor at Second Base." What about "Most Career Farm Hands Attacked with a Machete" or "Most Career DL Stints"?

2011 Topps Baseball Series 1 Review and Pics! Part 1

As you can see, these are the base cards for this set and then the diamond variations. I think the diamond variations are pretty damn sweet. This being Topps 60th anniversary, it would probably be a good idea to get your hands on as much of these diamond variations while you can. They are cheap now but I can see people paying upwards of $400 for a set. Insert pics and post to follow.

Review 2011 Topps Baseball

By: Clay

I dont have pictures yet but so far I like what I've gotten out of rack packs. I really like the looks of the shiny diamond cards as well as the Kimball Champion mini's. I've pulled quite a few Strasburgs so far. I wonder if they made alot of them. there are quite a few on Ebay. I did pull a relic of Brendan Abaendjo or something like that. There was some damage to the top of the card. It sucks that Topps doesn't replace cards that they have damaged.

I'll try and get some pics up later this week. Plus, I've almost completed the 2010 Allen and Ginter's base set, short print and TDIH set. Very close.
